UK-based outdoor apparel retailer Blacks Leisure has confirmed the sale of its Mambo surf brand for GBP800,000 (US$1.3m), as part of its exit from the boardwear space.

It is selling the underperforming brand to Andrew Gerrie, the chief executive of Lush Cosmetics, leaving only 13 Freespirit stores in Blacks' boardwear portfolio.

A spokesperson for the company told just-style that boardwear now comprised less than 5% of total group revenue.
