Department store chain Bloomingdale's is expanding its use of ProfitLogic's Merchandise Optimization services.

ProfitLogic will now provide analysis of additional merchandise categories through its pricing and in-season management capabilities, and the facility for regional pricing. 

Bloomingdale's will also use ProfitLogic's Store Clustering Optimization module to strategically group its stores into appropriate clusters.
   
With the region-level pricing option Bloomingdale's merchants will gain greater visibility of in-season merchandise performance, and will be able to examine the financial trade-offs of different pricing actions.
   
Tom Ebling, chairman and chief executive officer of ProfitLogic, said that the expansion would allow Bloomingdale's to continue its drive to achieve "merchandising innovation and improved performance".

Bloomingdale's, a division of Federated Department Stores, operates 36 stores throughout the USA.
