Online fashion retailer Bluefly Inc has experienced a third quarter net sales increase of 30 per cent to $8.21 million, rising from $6.3m recorded in the same period a year ago.

The New York City-based company also saw new customer levels increase 31.8 per cent to 29,522 year-on-year, while revenue from repeat customers remained the same at 68 per cent.

"This quarter, we have shown improvement in our growth rate and kept our expenses flat," CEO Ken Seiff said.

"I expect gross margin in the fourth quarter to be at or near last year's level of 31 per cent, and I am excited by our prospects, particularly in light of this quarter's progress and the recent hire of Melissa Payner as our new president and chief merchant."

Trading as, Bluefly Inc sells fashions from more than 350 designer labels, at discounts of up to 75 per cent off.
