KAP Industrial Holdings has sold its footwear division to South African based Bolton Footwear, one of the country's leading producers of men's, women's and safety shoes.

The deal includes Jordan Shoes, which specialises in men's fashion and sports footwear; Wayne Plastics, which makes PVC and PVC/nitrile boots and safety footwear; industrial and safety footwear manufacturer United Fram Footwear; and South Africa's largest tannery, Mossop-Western Leathers.

Bolton, together with supplier Beier Safety Footwear and other parties, will establish two significant footwear groups focusing on safety footwear and fashion footwear. The Footwear Division will be integrated into these new footwear groups.

KAP says the deal will enable it to focus on strategic industrial assets in emerging markets.
