Brazilian football star Cafu has signed his first ever sponsorship deal - with Italian sports apparel and footwear firm Lotto.

The AS Roma defender and Samba soccer star, real name Marcos Evangelista de Moraes, has agreed a one year deal to wear the Stadio Elite football boots during training and all national and international matches - including next year's World Cup in Japan and South Korea.

The 31-year-old will also be the testimonial of Lotto for its sportswear leisure collection. "Lotto has proved itself, once again, the Italian reference brand for professional soccer," - declared Mr Edoardo Artaldi, communications director.

"Cafù has always played without a sponsor and the fact that he has chosen our brand, after testing a number of products, obviously honours us."
