Fourth quarter net sales at Burlington Coat Factory Warehouse Corporation were $601.3 million compared with $526.6 million for the same period last year - a 14.2 per cent increase.

These results reflect a 5.0 per cent comparative store sales increase for the thirteen comparative weeks. Comparative store sales increased 11.2 per cent during March, decreased 3.2 per cent in April and increased 4.8 per cent during May.

Net sales for the year ended 1 June 2002 were $2.577 billion compared with $2.400 billion last year, a 7.4 per cent increase.

The company said comparative store sales for the year were adversely affected by weak outerwear sales due to a warmer than normal winter selling season.
