Burlington Coat Factory Warehouse Corporation (NYSE:BCF) today reported an increase in its net income and sales during the second quarter ended December 2, 2000, compared to 1999.

For the three months ended December 2, 2000 net income was $47.5m or $1.07 per share compared with net income of $29.4m or $0.64 per share for the corresponding period last year.

Sales reached $735.2m compared to $610,9m during the corresponding period last year. Comparative store sales for the quarter increased 5.1 per cent. Total sales for the 13 comparative weeks ended December 4, 1999 were $643,5m.

Total sales for the comparative calender weeks increased 14.3 per cent.
