New Jersey-based apparel retailer Burlington Coat Factory announced that second-quarter net revenue increased 4.2% to US$39.4m, but said that same-store sales decreased 2.4% during the quarter.

Same-store sales increased 5.0% during September, but decreased 1.3% in October and 8.8% in November, compared with the same months last year.

The decreases were primarily attributed to unseasonably warm weather in certain regions of the US.

For the six-month period ended 2 December, the company experienced an increase in net sales compared with the six months ended 26 November, it said.
