Department store group Allders is getting closer to being broken up after it emerged that a number of interested parties have begun due diligence.

According to The Financial Times newspaper, more than ten parties have expressed interest in parts, or all, of the group.

These include Terry Green, chief executive of Allders, value retailer Primark and department store groups Debenhams and House of Fraser.

Allders, which is owned by Scarlett Retail, has 45 stores.
