Women's specialty store chain Cache has hired Philip Morris as executive vice president and chief marketing officer. Morris had consulted with the firm since January but officially joined on 19 March.

Morris is a 30-year veteran of the retail business who was most recently vice president of Chico's White House Black Market division. Brian Woolf, chairman and chief executive officer of Cache, noted that Morris will be working closely with Jim Frain, who joined the firm last July to focus on Cache's customer loyalty programme and its direct mail and television advertising.

"We remain very enthusiastic regarding the prospects to increase awareness, store visits and sales as we introduce more invigorating and enticing marketing campaigns, and are confident that the team we have in place today will assist us in reaching this goal," Woolf said.

Cache operates 297 stores under the Cache and Cache Luxe nameplates. It specialises in special occasion sportswear and dresses for younger customers.
