Leading retailer Carrefour was on Thursday reported to have agreed a deal with US jeans giant Levi Strauss & Co to sell the California-based company new Signature brand.

Media reports said the company, which has almost 10,000 stores in more than 30 countries, will begin selling the new cut-price brand from mid-January, although neither firm carried news of such a deal on their websites.

Earlier this week, Levi Strauss announced a deal with Wal-Mart Canada which will see the brand debut in Canada in the near future.
