Iconix Brand Group has signed a license pact with Cayre Group for its recently-bought Mudd brand.

Cayre will take on the manufacture and distribution of Mudd junior tops, previously the responsibility of former owner Tack Fat Group.

The new collection will be available at department and specialty stores in spring 2007.

Iconix CEO Neil Cole said: "We are excited to be working with The Cayre Group to develop and grow our Mudd tops business as we continue with our strategy to keep Mudd positioned as a leading junior lifestyle brand."

Mudd currently has 12 licensees who distribute a full range of apparel and accessory products.

Iconix bought Mudd for US$45m last month.
