The head of French men's wear brand Celio, Christian Pimont, will relinquish his post as of 4 July 2011, with Frédéric Vitre taking over.

Celio said a major factor in Pimont’s decision to stand down had been his appointment to the presidency of France’s clothing retailers’ federation, FEH, earlier this year. While relinquishing operational reins of the group, he will continue to occupy the post of non-executive chairman.

Vitre was previously head of Italian fashion retailer Conbi Pel, a post he had held for three years.

Celio, which is present in more than 70 countries, will open its 1,000th outlet at the end of this month, with a new store being opened in the outskirts of Paris.
