A new version of Centric’s PLM system has been launched to meet the complex needs of the footwear industry.

Centric 8, Version 4.6 includes capabilities to aid understanding of footwear product structure, allowing for material compatibility and specific product relationships, for instance the recognition that a particular curved high-heel sole requires a heel of a certain height.

The new system also accommodates formal size ranges and sizes for materials, and allows for mass replacement on the BOM, and mass changes of material, colour and/or size.

“Importantly, the new version provides the product structure capabilities that footwear makers require in an out of-the-box format,” said Centric CEO Chris Groves.

“Customers need no customisation, and can be up, running and generating return on investment in three to four months – or sooner.”
