Licensed clothing specialist Cherokee has brokered a major deal with retailer Wal-Mart for fashion designer Norma Kamali.

The multi-year agreement covers a wide range of categories, said Cherokee, including women's and children's clothing, footwear and accessories, all set to be branded with Norma Kamali's name.

Hailing the agreement as a "landmark deal", Cherokee chairman and CEO Robert Margolis said: "We believe this partnership will deliver extraordinary results and will far surpass any third-party partnerships we have facilitated to date.

"I am proud of Sandi Stuart, executive vice president of licensing, and Anthony Damiani, senior vice president of brand development, for helping to achieve another world-class agreement."
