Brand licensor Cherokee said it has extended its license deal with department store retailer Mervyns for active lifestyle brand Sideout until 2010.

Cherokee senior VP Mark Nawrocki said: "We are pleased to extend our partnership with Mervyns and look forward to continued success.

"In addition, we will continue to pursue domestic regional exclusive partnerships and international branding strategies for both Sideout and Sideout Sport utilising our various licensing techniques."

Michael Wallen, Mervyns senior VP, general merchandise manager, added: "We will continue to position Sideout as one of our strategic brands which differentiates Mervyns from the competition and look forward to building on our base as well as looking for new opportunities for Sideout as well as Sideout Sport throughout our store.
