Global brand management business Cherokee Global Brands has entered into a licensing deal with Wal-Mart Canada for its Tony Hawk signature apparel, accessories and footwear skater brand.

Effective immediately, the deal covers men's and boy's categories, and will see the launch of an autumn 2016 back-to-school range, supported by a marketing campaign including digital and social media outreach and national PR and promotional events.

Cherokee CEO Henry Stupp, says the relationship with Wal-Mart is a “game-changer” for the company.

“We couldn't be more excited to work with Wal-Mart Canada as they become the latest flagship partner to fully leverage on our 360-degree platform. Wal-Mart will benefit from our innovative design vision of casual streetwear products, our agile sourcing and marketing approaches, and our ability to quickly scale success, and Wal-Mart Canada's customers will enjoy unprecedented access to the full Tony Hawk brand experience.”

Earlier this month, Cherokee entered into a European license agreement with Saborn Licensing Company for its namesake brand.
