The Children's Place Retail Stores Inc today (10 April) said Jill Kronenberg, senior vice president, general merchandise manager, has resigned.

Kronenberg, who has been in the role since October 2006, wants to spend more time with her family, the company said.
 
Her duties will be taken over by Dina Sweeney and Celeste Risimini-Johnson, who have been promoted to group vice president and vice president, respectively.

Sweeney and Risimini-Johnson are both merchandising veterans of The Children's Place, each having spent over 15 years with the retailer.

For the past three years Sweeney has overseen the company's Canada business, most recently serving as vice president, Canada, as well as overseeing its fast growing e-commerce business.

Risimini-Johnson most recently held the position of senior director, new business initiatives.

In a separate statement today, the Secaucus, New Jersey-based company said same-store sales fell 3% in March. It operates 906 Children's Place stores.
