Sales of babies', children's and teenagers' clothing and accessories in Italy are forecast to rise by between 1.0 per cent and 1.5 per cent during 2005, according to research carried out by market research company ACNielsen Sita.
 
But sales of children's clothing could fall by 2.9 per cent year-on-year in the summer season, according to textile and clothing industry association Sistema Moda Italia.

Italian production of children's clothing totalled €1.8 billion in 2004 - a 4.8 per cent drop from the year before.
