Year-on-year retail sales in the UK grew by 3.4% during October, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

The largest rise was textile, clothing and footwear stores at 10.7%, driven by clothing, the ONS said.

Total sales volume in the three months to October was 2.8% higher than the same period a year ago, with textile, clothing and footwear stores up 7.1%, again driven by clothing.
