Danish apparel exports climbed nine per cent year-on-year in the first five months of 2003 with full year growth seen at around half that amount, industry chiefs said Thursday.

The Federation of Danish Textile & Clothing Companies said sales to Germany rose 14 per cent in the January to May period with Swedish orders up 16 per cent.

It added other countries which ordered more apparel from local producers included The Netherlands, Finland, Spain and the UK.
