Luxury accessories brand Coach Inc has announced its chief financial officer, Jane Hamilton Nielsen, will be leaving the company in August.

The firm has started a search for her successor, and Andrea Shaw Resnick, global head of investor relations and corporate communications, will be interim CFO until a permanent appointment is made.

Resnick, who has more than 30 years of finance experience, joined Coach during its IPO in 2000.

"During her tenure, Jane has played an important role as our leadership team's finance partner and we wish her the best of luck as she embarks on her next chapter," said Victor Luis, CEO of Coach Inc. "In addition, we are delighted to announce our intention to have Andrea, a seasoned Coach veteran, assume the position of interim CFO. Andrea has been a great partner to me personally, and she has a unique and unparalleled understanding of the company."

Earlier this year Coach maintained its full-year guidance as it revealed higher third-quarter earnings and sales boosted by a return to growth for the Coach brand.

In the three months ended 26 March, net income rose to US$112.5m from $88.1m a year earlier. Gross margin, however, narrowed slightly to 69% versus 71.6% in the year ago period.
