Coach, the US footwear and leathergoods brand, is to open a second flagship store in Japan, located in the Shibuya section of Tokyo.

The Coach store will be located on Inokashira-dori, a central point within one of Japan's busiest shopping districts, and is expected to open in the spring of 2003 the company said on Tuesday.

Ian Bickley, president of Coach Japan Inc, said: "We are extremely excited about our flagship location in Shibuya, which is expected to be one of the highest volume Coach locations in the world. Our Ginza flagship, which opened in May, has been very well received by the Japanese consumer and is on track to generate more than $15 million in sales during its first year of operation, making it the largest volume Coach store worldwide. These results led us to accelerate plans for a second flagship location."
