Coats has added another product to its environmentally friendly EcoVerde line-up in the form of 100% organic cotton sewing threads.

Available globally, the threads are made from Giza organic cotton fibre, mercerised for lustre and strength, and are certified to GOT standards by the Institute for Marketecology (IMO) in Switzerland

Coats recommends the products for sewing post-dyed organic garments and says the mercerised finish increases the affinity of the thread to the dyestuffs used for dyeing the garments.

But it also points out that the EcoVerde organic cotton range can also be made available in a selection of colours.

The EcoVerde range also includes polyester threads made from recycled plastic (PET) bottles, and is available from Coats owned and operated manufacturing and distribution operations in 71 countries.
