Multi-channel retailer of women's apparel, footwear and accessories, Coldwater Creek, on Friday announced a former CFO of clothing giant Gap Inc had joined its board.

The Idaho-based company said Warren Hashagen served as CFO at Gap from 1995 through 1999 during which time he helped strat up the Old Navy brand and develop its other labels such as Banana Republic.

"Warren's depth of retailing experience will serve us well as we complete our shift from a direct-marketing model to one that is based on building the Coldwater Creek brand through opening several hundred retail stores across the country," said Coldwater Creek chairman and CEO Dennis Pence.

"He adds considerable strength to the board's advisory capacity, while providing a broader range of perspective and expertise from outside the company."
