Following its launch at Herren-Mode-Woche/Inter-Jeans in February, the International Designer Competition jointly organised by show organiser KölnMesse and the German Institute for Men's Fashion has been renamed the 'Cologne Fashion Award.'

The new name is intended to underscore the international importance of the competition and to further promote the role of events at Herren-Mode-Woche/Inter-Jeans, one of the world's leading men's wear, jeans, sports and streetwear fairs.

The Cologne Fashion Award is aimed at young labels and designers that have already established themselves on the market. After an initial pre-selection, the best collections will be presented to the public at 'Flora' on the eve of the show on 12 July 2001. The prize winner will then be chosen by a jury composed of public figures from the fields of art, culture and the media.
