Shoe and clothing company Colorado Group has appointed Mel Sutton CEO, effective on 17 July.
 
Sutton joins Colorado from Fosters Group, where he is currently Asia Pacific regional VP (wine Clubs and Services) and a sales director for Fosters Australia.

He has also been CEO of branded apparel and shoe companies Globe International and Nike Australia/ New Zealand among other roles.

Colorado's chairman Bill Gibson said Sutton has "proven experience in strategy development and implementation to deliver growth" and sills in branding and customer segmentation.

Sutton said: "I see significant opportunities in the diana ferrari and JAG businesses and the repositioning plans of the Colorado range show significant promise.

"The footwear businesses will be early stage recipients of benefits from the various supply chain initiatives, including the warehouse relocation early next year."

The company has also appointed Peter King as group general manager - marketing. King has gained experience through a 16-year tenure with casual wear company Levi Strauss. He most recently served at Tabcorp.

In addition, Charlotte Riley has been appointed general manager of diana derrari. Riley has held senior positions for the past 15 years with Australian lifestyle brand Country Road.
