Columbia Sportswear Company has appointed several key managers to the positions of vice president and senior vice president.

"Each of these individuals has played a vital role in the tremendous growth Columbia Sportswear has experienced,'' said Tim Boyle, Columbia's president and CEO. "These appointments underscore the substantial contributions they have made to the leadership of this company.''

Bob Masin, director of sales and merchandising, has been appointed senior vice president, sales and merchandising. Masin joined Columbia Sportswear in 1989 as national sales manager and became general merchandise manager in 1998.

Rick Carpenter, executive director of operations, has been appointed vice president, manufacturing operations. Carpenter joined the company in 1988 and has held various management positions in planning, customer service and operations.

Doug Prentice has been appointed vice president, outerwear merchandising. Prentice joined Columbia Sportswear in 1984 as senior merchant for apparel, and was appointed general manager of outerwear merchandising in 1997. Prior to joining Columbia, Prentice worked as a sales representative for Gerry Outdoor Products, a Colorado-based skiwear company.

Pat Anderson, CFO, has been appointed vice president, finance and administration. Anderson joined the company in 1992 as manager of financial reporting, and was appointed CFO, a title he retains, in 1996.
