The ASBCI's 'Size and Fit' conferences are hugely popular

Speakers from Marks & Spencer, Shop Direct, Matalan and Harvey Nichols will be taking part in the latest 'Size and Fit' conference organised by the Association of Suppliers to the British Clothing Industry (ASBCI) next week.

'Fashion Fit For The Future – Better, Faster, Smarter' will look at the latest information, data and predictions for the future of apparel size and fit.

Dawn Brazier, fit development manager at Marks & Spencer, will discuss 'The reality of size – fit for everybody, everywhere'; Laura Rourke, head of technology at Shop Direct, will look at 'Sizing vs returns'; and Harvey Nichols' product fit executive Rebecca Conway and product editor Anna Goumal will speak about 'Managing fit strategy in an inconsistent world'.

Meanwhile, David Goodwin, head of global technical services at Matalan, is teaming up with Lectra UK marketing manager Liz Brandwood to share insights on 'The benefits of virtual fit'.

Other speakers include Jag Purewal, strategic insight director at Kantar World Panel, who will look at 'Market trends on the expanding nation'.

And new developments in hosiery fit will come under the spotlight in 'The Lycra F!T Finder' with Jane Gwyther, EMEA marketing manager at Invista's sock segment, and Richard Barnes, managing director, Select Research.

Alvanon president Ed Gribbin will also return as the keynote speaker, discussing 'Speed To Market – See Now, Buy Now'.

Technology will also have a presence at the event, with Peter Berninger, associate director manufacturing, Human Solutions, talking about 'Fit using the cloud'; Ben Hanson, editor and researcher of the Which PLM 3D report discussing '3D fit: revolution not evolution'; and Paul Pällin, chief scientist and co-founder at virtual fit specialist Fits.Me, offering insight into 'New horizons in consumer fit solutions  – how advanced 'search by fit' tools can win customer loyalty and competitive advantage'.

"Getting the perfect fashion fit is a crucial element of the fashion supply chain and rightly so," says ASBCI chairman Alistair Knox, adding that the association "has made this area a key focus."

The event follows in the footsteps of the 'Fit Factor' conference in spring 2015 and the launch of ASBCI's Technical handbook 'Size and Fit – a definitive guide'.

'Fashion Fit For The Future – Better, Faster, Smarter' will be held at the Queens Hotel in Leeds on Tuesday 11 October. Event sponsors are Alvanon and CAD/CAM systems supplier Lectra, with just-style as media partner. Click here for further details or to book a place at the conference.
