Argentina's exports of cotton and related goods totalled US$29m between January and October 2005, according to food quality and safety authority SENASA.

Export volume was 47,561 tonnes during the period, statistics said, with cotton fibre being the most exported item at 25,554 tonnes worth $22m compared to 9,417 or $11.97m last year.

Chile was the top export destination, receiving 918 tonnes worth $6.9m.

Total Argentine exports of cotton and related goods totalled 26,553 tonnes worth $16.1m in 2004, SENSA said.
