Famous knitwear and hosiery brand Coxmoore is to be revived after the label was bought by leading hosiery distributor Cox Wear.

Its new owners are hoping for a return to the 77-year-old brand's glory days when it was a leading figure in the country's textile industry.

Financial terms were not disclosed but a Cox Wear statement said the initial relaunch will focus on the main stay of the brand, knitwear and hosiery, and depending on their success other Coxmoore apparel may be produced.

Cox Wear managing director, Jim Cox, added: "We are very excited about the potential of the Coxmoore brand. The products are still well known in their traditional marketplace and we are looking forward to consolidating this and bringing the name to new markets."
