Colourful plastic clog maker Crocs has named Robin Akeroyd the new managing director of Crocs Europe.

He succeeds Dick Wijsman, who founded the company in Europe and will continue his work at Crocs in a global position.

Akeroyd has been the deputy managing director of Crocs Europe for almost four years, since the company was first founded.

He was previously financial controller and operations manager for the Deckers Corporation and most recently as director of Hub Footwear.

Akeroyd said: "I look forward to my new position in Crocs. The company has experienced tremendous success and now we have a great range of products which teamed up with our sales and operational structures offer retailers a great mix."
