• Q4 profit narrowed to $0.27m from $0.7m
  • Sales flat at $26.7m
  • Same-store sales decreased by 2%

Leather apparel and accessories retailer Danier Leather Inc has narrowed its fourth quarter loss on flat sales, despite what it describes as a "highly promotional" retail environment.

For the full year to 25 June, the company said net profit edged up to $7.6m from $7.2m, while annual sales fell to $157.6m a drop of 4% from last year's $164.2m.

The company, which operates 89 stores, is working to attract customers with new merchandise collections including the higher-end Danier Black label and the fashion-forward Blink line.

Its autumn merchandise also includes collaborations with fashion designers such as Canada's Greta Constantine and London-based Mark Fast.
