Osborne will join Ted Baker "at a date to be agreed within the next few months"

UK fashion and lifestyle brand Ted Baker has named former Debenhams finance boss Rachel Osborne as its new CFO.

Osborne, who has served as Debenhams' finance chief since September 2018, will join Ted Baker "at a date to be agreed within the next few months."

Prior to Debenhams, Osborne served as finance and strategy director at John Lewis.

"Rachel's career to date makes her a great fit for the board and we are delighted to welcome her to Ted Baker. As our strategy to grow the business continues, Rachel's experience of working in the challenging retail environment we currently face will be highly valuable. We look forward to leveraging her significant brand and retail experience and expertise moving forward," says David Bernstein, executive chairman of Ted Baker.

Osborne's appointment comes as the Ted Baker management team looks to steer the brand back on to steady footing.

In June the retailer issued its second profit warning citing "extremely difficult trading conditions". It has also struggled following misconduct allegations against its founder Ray Kelvin, who stepped down in March, and was replaced by Lindsay Page in April
