Goring will step down early next month

Mike Goring, retail director at UK department store retailer Debenhams, is stepping down after four years in the role.

Goring, who took on the role of retail director in 2012, will depart at the beginning of next month.

Ross Clemmow, currently e-commerce director at Debenhams, will become retail director for the UK and Ireland, while former VF Corp executive David Smith will start as international director on 3 May.

Smith, who will join the company from The Body Shop, where he has served as managing director for Asia Pacific for the last five years, has previously held increasing roles of responsibility at apparel and footwear giant VF Corp, including managing director for Jeanswear in Asia Pacific.

Commenting on Goring's departure, a spokesperson for Debehams said: "His contribution has been greatly valued and he leaves retail in great shape."

Meanwhile, marketing director Richard Cristofoli will take on additional responsibilities for digital design and creative, online photography, editorial content and print services.
