Dekko Group has achieved a fabric saving of over 9%

Bangladeshi apparel and textile giant Dekko Group has achieved a fabric saving of over 9% by deploying ThreadSol's IntelloCut material planning technology.

ThreadSol's flagship technology was installed last month and has achieved a fabric saving for Dekko of 9.07% in two weeks. IntelloCut is designed to help manufacturers reduce material wastage by using "effective concepts of fabric utilisation" packaged in advanced technology, thereby boosting profit.

"While fabric saving was the highlight, it was ThreadSol's overall approach to streamlining processes and generating automated reports on the [mobile] phone which made a difference for us," said Dekko owner Kalpan Hossain.

Indeed, ThreadSol is using smartphone and tablet applications to communicate results with manufacturers. Dekko said the feedback mechanism, with the option to "refresh the plan on floor", has helped it save fabric and "significantly" reduce process loss.

"After these three successful implementations, we are definitely looking forward to investing in a bigger strategic partnership to streamline the processes in all Dekko units," Hossain added.

ThreadSol has helped more than 70 factories across eight geographies to reduce fabric cost, including Kenpark, Regency, and Pacific Jeans.
