Randall has also held various positions at speciality clothing retailer Gap Inc and worked at J Crew, where she was vice president of merchandising.

The also issued a financial update today (15 July), blaming weak traffic for a 15.1% decline in revenue for May and June to US$23.2m. Retail sales fell 12.2% to $16.9m, while comparable store sales slipped 8.1%. Revenue for the direct segment tumbled 22.2% to $6.2m.

"Business remains challenging as we continue to utilise aggressive promotional strategies to move through underperforming legacy inventory," Gardner said.

"As we are in the beginning stages of a turnaround, we expect continuing pressures over the near term. We are intently focused on managing the Delia's business for the long-term, and are working to create a unified brand image and build a strong foundation for profitable future growth."
