Private-label apparel maker Delta Galil Industries has slimmed down its first-quarter loss after pushing ahead with its restructuring plan.

Quarterly loss was US$1m compared to $3m last year, as revenues slipped 1% to $172.1m from $173.5m in Q1 2005.

Chairman Dov Lautman said: "An increase in quantities enabled revenues to remain stable, despite continued erosion in selling prices, mainly in the European operation.

"In addition to implementing our re-organisation plan, we also are in the midst of implementing a change in our organisational structure."

Lautman said the company believed its measures would return Delta to profitability.

Delta makes quality apparel sold under brands such as Calvin Klein, Hugo Boss, Nike and Ralph Lauren.
