Israel-based lingerie, underwear and activewear manufacturer Delta Galil Industries is to test a proprietary selective thread dyeing system from technology start up Twine Solutions.

The firm's digital selective thread dyeing system was delivered to Delta Galil last month and is expected to help the manufacturer developing new fabrics, products, finishing technologies and marketing concepts.

The system continuously dyes a single raw or off-the-shelf (white) thread to any requested length and in any colour from a collection of "millions" of colours, shades, and colour gradients, eliminating the need for coloured thread stock and reducing time to market.

"Known for its innovative mindset, it is only natural for Delta Galil to join forces and collaborate with Twine. This will enable Delta to bring its customers the most updated digital solutions for textile, making sure they continue to be market leaders in their field," said Gil Simon, president of Delta.

Founded in Israel in 2015, Twine is also developing a digital dye to match mobile application.
