Retailer Jo-Ann Stores has added two new directors to its board: 7-Eleven boss Joseph DePinto and ex-Dollar General CEO David Perdue Jr.

Perdue was chairman and CEO of discount retailer Dollar General Corporation from 2003 to 2007, while DePinto has been president and CEO of retail giant 7-Eleven since 2005.

"Mr DePinto and Mr Perdue bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to our board," said Jo-Ann Stores chairman, president and CEO Darrell Webb.

"Their experience as chief executive officers operating companies with large retail store networks should allow them to provide valuable insight to our company."

DePinto fills a previously vacant board position, while Perdue's is a new directorship, bringing the number of board members to ten. Both will be up for re-election at the company's Annual Meeting of Shareholders on 11 June.
