Sportswear group Descente Ltd has announced plans to expand its distribution of French brand Le Coq Sportif in China and South Korea.

The Osaka-based company said it planned to operate seven Le Coq Sportif stores in China and 15 in South Korea, without citing a timeframe for the expansion.

It said the stores would be a combination of directly owned and franchised outlets.

Descente, which began selling the Le Coq Sportif brand in spring 2004, also distributes international sportswear brands including Lanvin, Umbro, Nautica and Fubu.
