The British Fashion Council (BFC) is taking its London Show Rooms initiative to Los Angeles and Hong Kong, in a bid to showcase some of the best of London's design talent in these new markets for the first time.

The scheme already runs in Paris and New York, where it helps designers develop their businesses by networking and working with the media, retailers and the broader fashion industry in each city.

London Show Rooms LA will take place on 17-19 October, giving west coast buyers, and press the opportunity to view the collections and the designers the opportunity to expand in this market. This will be followed by London Show Rooms Hong Kong on 31 October to 1 November, with Li & Fung joining as official sponsor.

The decision to showcase in Hong Kong supports the China Britain Fashion Alliance, which was set up in July. An initiative between the BFC, the Beijing International Brand Management Centre and the China-Britain Business Council, it aims to promote British Fashion in China.
