French fashion retailer Devianne has made its third acquisition in the space of a year with the purchase of Paris-based firm Stanford, which has 13 stores and an annual turnover of almost EUR14m (US$21.6m).

Last year Devianne, which specialises in women's and men's wear, acquired Magvet and its seven stores in eastern France and followed this up with the purchase of Capmod and its three stores in April 2007.

Distributing brands such as Mexx, Esprit, Cardin and Levis, Devianne now has a total of 58 stores under its control in France which range from 1,000 to 2,000 square metres in size and are located in edge-of town shopping centres.

The retailer has more than doubled its business since 2004 and turnover is expected to reach EUR130m in 2007.
