Spanish stretch-fabric maker Dogi has launched a new line of functional materials made from aloe vera 'nanoparticles' that it boasts offer hydrating, calming and anti-ageing benefits to those who wear them.

In a statement to just-style on Friday (20 October), Dogi said the line came to fruition after four years of joint research work between it and local peer Nurel.

"Dogi is opening a new chapter in fabrics [production] in which anything can be imagined in the short term," Dogi's chief executive Sergi Domenech said, citing
antibacterial, vitamin-enriched and fragranced fabrics as examples of future products.

Dogi's new fabric concept shows that nanotechnology has arrived as viable tool to make functional textiles, Sergi added.

Barcelona-based Dogi makes stretch fibres for the lingerie and bathing fashion markets. Its manufacturing plants are located in Spain and across Asia.
