DuPont has announced the appointment of David G Bills, 39, as vice president - corporate plans.

Bills is currently serving as a partner in the Chicago office of McKinsey & Company, providing strategic guidance and consultation on a wide range of issues facing major industrial and technology companies.

John W Himes, DuPont senior vice president for corporate strategy, said: "The breadth of Dave's experience and his proven track record in strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, and marketing for major corporations make him an ideal fit for DuPont. We expect him to make an extremely strong contribution to the company's sustainable growth mission as the leader of our corporate plans function."

At McKinsey, Bills has served as co-leader of the firm's worldwide Growth Strategy Practice and is a member of the Chemicals and Corporate Strategy Practices. He also was the founder of the McKinsey Business-to-Business Marketing Practice. Prior to McKinsey, Bills was employed by Exxon.
