• Q1 net earnings up 81% to US$4.1m
  • Net sales up 23.2% to $36.3m
  • Says Christmas sell-through could have significant impact

Slipper maker RG Barry Corporation has posted strong increases in first quarter sales and profits thanks to earlier than expected Christmas shipments to retailers.

Company president and CEO Greg Tunney said such timing issues illustrated why RG Barry encouraged assessment of the company’s performance on an annual rather than quarterly basis.

“We feel very good about the strong first quarter sell-in, but sell-through during the Christmas season can have a significant impact on our annual rate of top-line growth and profitability,” he added.
