Women's wear retailer Elvi has gone into administration for the second time in a year, and has made around 20 people redundant at its head office in Redditch, Worcestershire.

The company sells plus-size ladies apparel, in sizes 16 to 26, through more than 20 of its own shops and 50 concessions within stores including Debenhams and House of Fraser.

Joint administrator Jason Elliott from Cowgill Holloway said: "We are extremely positive about selling the business as a going concern and we will endeavour to preserve the employment of the remaining 340 staff who work for Elvi.

"The majority of staff are still in place, but inevitably it has been necessary to make a very small number of redundancies."

Elvi went into administration last February, and was bought by private investors including former management.
