The European Union (EU) Council of Ministers has approved a proposed expansion of the textiles and clothing agreement between the EU and Belarus.

For 2009, 12 restrictive quotas limiting trades of knitted and crocheted underwear, overcoats, jackets, suits, blazers and ski suits, various woven fabrics, yarn and other products will be lifted.

Also, Belarus will lower import duties on four EU exports; dyed woven mostly-artificial fabrics, loop wale-yarn, textile wall coverings and rubberised textile fabrics.
