More than 250 wearable technology experts will share their expertise to "bridge the gap" between the smart fabrics and wearable technology disciplines at this year's Smart Fabrics & Wearable Technology event.

The conference and exhibition, which will take place from 11-13 May at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco, is designed to help key industry players navigate intellectual property, design, funding and other issues to successfully get products to market. Executives from companies such as Intel, iShüu Technologies, Solvay and Yahoo Labs will be speaking.

Barbara Fowler, conference director at event organiser Smithers Apex, said the event is an opportunity to connect with a wide range of experts from across the wearable and fashion industries.

"With 2015 projected as the year for wearables to really gain mainstream acceptance, the state of our industry is in a crossroads," said Jeremy Wall, founder of Lumenus and a speaker at the event.
