A discussion and workshop looking at how clothing companies have succeeded in developing their own brands, gaining access to consumers, as well as finding ways to exploit UK-based manufacturing is due to take place next week.

The Business Breakfast event at Rochdale's Norton Grange Hotel on Tuesday 16 September has been organised by the North West Advanced Apparel Systems Centre, an initiative funded by the European Regional Development Fund.

Two local manufacturers, operating in their own niche markets, will speak about their business strategies and how they have developed their own brands. Donald Moore from Rollinson's Knitwear Ltd supplies branded products to the schoolwear market.John Schonfeld of Tibard Ltd supplies its own brand of chef's wear to the hotel and catering sector.

In addition, there will be a workshop to provide opportunities for delegates to discuss issues that concern them and to identify possible ways of exploiting the resources of local companies.
